Upcoming: Hot Cat Club 5 Year Anniversary

One of Gulou\’s hidden gems, the Hot Cat Club on Fangjia Hutong celebrates five years of being an obscure yet crucial venue for Beijing. And though they\’ve been slacking in the past couple years, with fingers always pointing toward an detestable sound system and poor management, I have a funny feeling the joint is slowly reversing their fortune. Much of this is due to Li Yan of Rustic taking over management duties earlier this year – the few times I\’ve stopped by it was packed. Well, looks like the artists still hold a soft spot for the place as this weekend for Hat Cat Club\’s Five Year Anniversary, quite the rooster of bands and performers are paying their respects. Might just be time to give Hot Cat their due. Check out the lineup below.
