For those not familiar with Lucki Eck$ music, he initially turned heads with his debut mixtape \”Alternative Trap. Following the buzz built off “Alternative Trap,” Lucki released his “Body High” mixtape in 2014. Eck$ third mixtape, \”X\”, scanned like a pretty unsurprising extension of the aesthetic of his previous two mixtape reflecting a more murky, tonally somber music. His recent project entitled \”Free Wave\” boasts ten songs including the Max-B inspired \”Lowlife\”, and a lone guest appearance courtesy of fellow up-and-comer Playboy Carti. Lucki has also been featured in Noisey, Pitchfork, Complex (\”Top 25 new rappers list\”), The Fader, FakeshoreDrive, and The Source magazines.
His most recent collaborations include work with native Chicagoan Chance the Rapper, Danny Brown, FKA TWIGS, and slew of up-coming producers such as Plu2o Nash, Hippie Sabotage, Skywlkr, Hippie Dream, Mullato Beats, Hot Sugar, Nate Fox (of Acid Rap fame), and Hytman.
