MOONBAND悶餅 – Francis Hotel 法蘭西斯賓館
There’s a cheekiness to Moonband’s retro music video for their new single ‘Francis Hotel’ which fittingly finds its star girl get taken to the titular hotel with a dream boy for some ‘dancing all night’. Lit like a softcore porn film from the 80s (there’s even an old school video camcorder to really drive that point home) it’s clearly it’s a daydream brought to cheesy life. The Zhaoqing indie pop groovers seem to be popping up everywhere these days.
Psy.P (feat. Bohan Phoenix) – Lucy Liu 刘玉玲
On the reverse (gender) side of daydreaming, rap all star Psy.P (of Higher Brothers fame) pays tribute to the one and only Lucy Liu – the American actress who the Chengdu rapper considers ’a gift from heaven’ and ‘a legend for the future generations to study’. He gets help from none other than Bohan Phoenix (and a very nice California Dreaming sample) and some slick animation.
